On the one hand, we need to engage our cognitive faculties to engage with the meaning of what we are saying. By thinking about the positive qualities that we want to cultivate and focusing on their importance, we lay the groundwork for creating change from within.

On the other hand, simply thinking about these things does very little if we are unable to connect with them emotionally. Without emotion, our positive affirmations become flat and lifeless, like a string of empty platitudes floating aimlessly through space.

For this reason, we must approach our affirmations not only with thought but also with feeling – by clearly imagining how things will be once they become a reality while respecting their transformative power within our lives. Example of a Negative Affirmation

Can you see what’s wrong with these two statements? At first they appear to be motivational, but the message is neutral/negative.

Note how the first half of the affirmation is in the future tense, not the present tense. Nor is it in the first person. What it should say is, “I am okay” but even that is a bit bland. Who wants to be just okay.? We are amazing!

The second half is meant to say that you have no choice but to be okay because the Universe is making it so, but in itself its a negative affirmation. It’s saying, “You have no choice“. What will the subconscious mind make of that? It will probably generate a sense of resignation and gloom, as if life is out of your control.

Repeating affirmations for wealth and prosperity can help you shift your thinking, so you begin to think in a more prosperous manner. Affirmations for wealth and prosperity could include statements such as:

These are symptoms of the resistance by a lack of self worth or self love that’s programmed into your mind by years of negative self talk or unhealthy personal relationships, so keep pushing until you break it down and reprogram your mind to accept yourself fully and confidently, filling yourself with a new sense of self worth.

If you have a challenging event ahead, like an interview, a social event, a presentation at work, or anything that makes you feel nervous and lacking in confidence, combine these affirmations with some deep abdominal breathing.

Affirmations For Losing Weight

Weight loss can’t be achieved by using affirmations alone. You’ll still need to combine sensible, healthy eating with moderate exercise, but what they can do is help you to push through to your goal on those days when you feel you’re not making any progress, or you feel your self-discipline is growing weak.
